Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi

I started my journey as a medical student in 2001 at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, after completing my graduation. I pursued my training in Orthopaedic surgery in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. It was here that I developed an interest in spine surgery and got certified by the National Board of Examinations for Orthopaedic surgery.

I went to Ahmedabad to do my senior residency in AMC MET Medical college; here my interest in spine surgery was further bolstered as Ahmedabad is one of the leading cities for spine surgery in India.

Samsung medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea

I was selected for the post doctoral Chirayu spine fellowship in Ahmedabad, one of the largest centres for spine surgery and deformity correction Centre in western India, under the mentorship Dr. Amit Jhala, who is also one of the pioneers of minimally invasive spine surgery in India. I was exposed to all varieties of spine surgeries and trained under the watchful eyes of my mentor. During my training I visited Samsung medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea to get international exposure in Adult reconstructive surgery. South Korea is known for its advancements in Spine surgery and their infrastructure to conduct the most complex surgeries. The visit was an eye opner towards the latest International trends and techniques in spine surgery.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Centre, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

I was invited to Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Centre, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA for a visitng fellowship in deformity correction under the mentorship of Dr. Viral Jain and Dr. Alvin Crawford where I enhanced my Skills in Deformity correction and other Spine disorders. CCHMC is one of the world authorites in management of Paediatric spine disorders and one of the leading deformity correction centres in the United States of America.

Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago, USA

I was then selected for fellowship of Indo-American spine alliance at Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago, USA under the mentorship of Dr. Kern Singh to enhance my skills in minimally invasive spine surgery. It was here that gave me a different insight into the scope and future of MIS surgery. Dr. Kern Singh is a well known figure in the international circuit. He has authored papers and published many books on Minimally invasive Spine surgery. I learnt the latest procedures in MIS such as XLIF and ALIF at RUSH.

Having acquired all the skills and experience over time to deal with the disorders of the spine, I took the decision to settle in Punjab to give a new dimension to spine surgery in Ludhiana and Punjab.
